Abhishek Banerjee badly trapped saying 'Goli Maar Deta..,' BJP leader reaches court to file case

Kolkata: BJP's West Bengal unit president Sukanta Majumdar on Thursday (September 29) filed a petition in a Kolkata court, seeking a direction to the police to register a case against Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee on his complaint. Banerjee had given a statement to open fire on those involved in the violence, against whom Majumdar wants to file a case.

Majumdar's lawyer Partha Ghosh has informed that Majumdar has filed a petition in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's court, alleging that Banerjee was instigating the police to shoot people. The BJP leader alleged that the police had refused to register a complaint against Banerjee. Banerjee had visited an injured police officer at SSKM Hospital on September 14 and said he would have shot those involved in violence and arson in the head. The police officer was beaten up during a BJP rally on September 13. Police have arrested several people in connection with the torching of a police vehicle that day and the attack on the officer.

According to media reports, TMC MP and CM Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek had said, 'I told Debashish Babu that I salute him. He did nothing. If I was in his place and police vehicles were set on fire in front of me and policemen were attacked, I would have shot in the head on the spot.'
