Dehradun: BJP leader Ashok Verma's son Rijul, who was named in the murder case of property dealer Imran in Uttarakhand's Roorkee, was arrested by the police on Tuesday. BJP leader Ashok Verma and his sons Rijiju and Bijendra were absconding in connection with the murder of a property dealer, a resident of Sanghipur village in Laksar. Out of which, the police arrested Rijul from Narsan area late on Monday night. The same police are preparing to produce Rijul in court. SP Rural Pramendra Dobal said that a search is on for the BJP leader and another. Rijul has been taken along by the police for similar recoveries. In fact, Imran, a resident of Garhi Sanghipur, Laksar, died after falling from the roof of a building in Ganeshpur, Roorkee, under suspicious circumstances on July 27 morning. The family had accused six people, including State Fisheries Cooperative Union Limited President Ashok Verma alias Mantri, Rijul Verma and Virendra Saini, of killing him by throwing him from the roof. It was alleged that Imran had reached Roorkee for a land deal on Haridwar Road. From there, the man took Imran with him to Ganeshupar and kept him hostage in the building. The police registered a case of murder and arrested three persons and sent them to jail.
