BJP president JP Nadda arrives in Imphal ahead of Manipur polls

Imphal-Manipur:  JP Nadda, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), visited in Manipur on Thursday ahead of the 2022 Assembly elections. Nadda was greeted by Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh upon his arrival. The BJP National President will speak at a Yuva Rally in Kakching, Manipur.

In 2017, the BJP won the state of Manipur for the first time. Following the 2017 Assembly elections, the administration was formed by a coalition of the BJP, National People's Party (NPP), Naga People's Front, and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), which is currently led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh.

The Manipur Legislative Assembly, which consists of 60 members, is set to expire on March 19, 2022.
