Mumbai: Municipal elections in Maharashtra will be held without the implementation of reservation system for Other Backward Classes (OBC). According to the order given by the Supreme Court regarding this, the State Election Commission has now started preparations for conducting the municipal elections. The State Election Commission has clarified that the process of reservation for 13 municipal corporations will be started from May 27. According to the news received by the State Election Commission, elections were held for Navi Mumbai, Vasai-Virar, Kalyan-Dombivli, Kolhapur, Thane, Ulhasnagar, Nagpur, Nashik, Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Solapur, Amravati and Akola Municipal Corporation.
