The video was first posted by the media channel 'Samvad' on its YouTube and Facebook channel. The title of the video is written in the Kannada language. In Hindi, it means, 'Namaz in the Karnataka High Court'. Since then, social media users have been sharing this video on Twitter and other social media platforms.

An FIR was registered on May 16, 2022, against the channel Samvad for posting the video shot in the High Court premises without permission. A complaint was lodged against the channel at The Vidhana Soudha Police Station in Bengaluru. N.G. Dinesh had registered an FIR under sections 447 (criminal act) and 505(2) (causing or promoting enmity, hatred or malice) of the IPC on the basis of the complaint.
