Bengal: People can take entry at Durga Puja venue, HC issues new instructions

Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court in West Bengal today heard a relief news report which is good news for Durga puja devotees. The Calcutta High Court has given some relief to the pandals during Durga Puja. According to the information received, people will now be able to enter Durga Puja pandals with conditions. Earlier, because of the Coronavirus crisis, the High Court had said that people cannot enter Durga puja pandals.

While hearing the review of the Forum for Durga Puja, the Calcutta High Court has issued fresh directions today. As per these instructions, ten organizer members will now join the venue at a time in small pandits and the maximum number maybe 15. These numbers can be further exceeded in large pandits. In addition, a total of 60 people can live inside the big pandals, which will have to be listed and 45 people will be involved in the venue.

The new directions of the High Court say that there should be a list at 8 o'clock every morning outside the venue, which includes the names of the people who come to the venue. Further, it has also been stated that it can be decided as per the daily situation. In its direction, the court has refused to clear the Verdur played, as there is scope for more congestion. After giving this direction, the court has now refused to clear the matter for further hearing.
