Lucknow: The Police Commemoration Day 2020 programme has been launched in the police line at Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. CM Yogi Adityanath has reached the venue. CM addressed and paid homage to the martyrs. CM Yogi said that 9 soldiers of UP police have been martyred in 2019-20. Assured the families of the martyr that the government is always with them. Rs. 26 crores has been provided to the families of 122 martyrs.

In this regard, Chief Minister said that a space of 50 lakh was given to the martyred police personnel in the Biku case. Various medals have been released on 26th January and 15th August to boost morale. It has been revealed that in the meantime, Chief Minister Yogi has done the work done for the police. He said that there is zero tolerance towards the culprits, 125 crooks have been killed in the encounter, while 2607 have been injured.  All criminals are in jail or killed. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi praised the work done by the police force, saying the police played an important role in dealing with the Covid. 3687 posts have been created for Mahila Battalion. Mission Power is being run.

Martyrs from all over the country remembered: According to information received, police martyrs from across the country were remembered today. A total of 264 police personnel have been martyred in the midst of their duty from 1st September 2019 to 31st October 2020. This includes a total of 9 policemen from Uttar Pradesh. Out of this, 8 martyrs are in the firing at Bicku in Kanpur alone.
