New Delhi:- Colonel Magod Basappa Rabindranath VrC was an officer in the Indian Army. He was awarded Viruhi Chakra for his exploits in the Battle of Trolling during the Kargil War in 1999. He commanded the 2nd Rajputana Rifle Battalion of the Indian Army to occupy the strategic high ground of his lock, Trolling, Point 4590, in the main Drasu district of the Srinagar-Leh Highway (NH 1D). It was successful and marked the first major victory to mark the course of the Kargil War. changed. Rabindranath was born in 1959 in Kundur, Honari Taluk, Davangere District, Karnataka, India, to Sarojamma and Magod Basappa. His father was a school teacher. He completed his schooling at Sainik School in Vijayapura. Rabindranath attended the National Defense College from 1976 to 1979, before dropping out of the Indian Military Academy in 1980. He was drafted into the 17th Madras Regiment. He moved to 21RAJRIF in February 1985. He later commanded two Rajputana rifles during Operation Kargil. He was first deployed to Arunachal Pradesh and then employed as an instructor at Mhow’s military school. From 1989 he worked at J&K, from 1989 he worked for 1990, from 1994 he worked at 1996 and finally again in 1999 he worked at J&K. During the Kargil War, Rabindranath was the commander of the Rajputana Rifle Corps (2 RAJ RIF) 2nd Battalion. 2 RAJ RIF was tasked with capturing the strategic highlands of Trolling, Point 4590, Blackrock in the Drath sector. According to him, Rabindranath was personally leading the battalion's reconnaissance units under enemy artillery and small arms fire. On June 12, 1999, during an attack on Trolling, two RAJ RIF units came under constant enemy artillery and heavy machine fire. Aware of the seriousness of the situation, Rabindranath arrived on the scene and through personal influence quickly restored the situation, eventually repelling an enemy counterattack and capturing Trolling, threatening Trolling and Point 4590. succeeded in consolidating control of the Indian army. During the attack, the assault company lost both its commander and deputy commander. Rabindranath then took command of the company himself and led the charge, eventually capturing Blackhis lock. Due to his actions during the war, Rabindranath said he was awarded Viru his chakra on 15 August 1999. Rabindranath retired in 2001 after the Kargil War. Based in Bangalore, he has served on the boards of his own companies including Magod Fusion Technologies, Magod Laser Machining, Preusse India and Tycoon Software Technologies. Rabindranath died on April 8, 2018 at the age of 59 from a heart attack while jogging in a park near his Bangalore neighborhood. He and his wife Anitha had two daughters named Prena and Prathana. One day while jogging he got heart attack and that day was the last day for our hero who served as a brave army fighter. While carrying his Funeral for the final Guard of Honour he was not given the Martyr Salute respect for his work that he served for the brave Expedition to het control over the Tiger Hills.
