COVID woes in Assam worsen: 475 new cases were logged, 190 were found in Guwahati

Concerns regarding COVID are on the increase in Assam. Assam has 475 new COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday evening. Guwahati has been reported to have 190 of the 475 new cases reported in Assam.

COVID numbers in Assam increased by 124 in a single day on Tuesday evening compared to Monday. On Tuesday, the single-day COVID positive rate in Assam also surpassed 1%. In Assam, 475 cases were reported on Tuesday, with a positive rate of 1.29 percent. After testing 36,781 samples, the additional instances were found.

In addition, at least three additional people have died as a result of the virus. So yet, no cases of the Omicron form have been reported in Assam. In Meghalaya, however, an Assam man tested positive for Omicron. On Tuesday, five Omicron cases were discovered in Meghalaya, including one from Assam. The whereabouts of this Assam Omicron positive man are unknown.
