New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday that there will be rain in North-West India and Central India till January 9 and there is no forecast of cold wave in North India for the next 6-7 days. On the other hand, light-moderate rain or snowfall is expected in the western Himalayan region of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Wednesday and on January 6, there may be scattered rain or snowfall.
The same IMD said that till January 6, light or moderate rain is expected at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, North Rajasthan and West UP. On January 5 and 6, scattered rain is expected over South Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh. The IMD also said that on January 5, there may be heavy rain in isolated areas of Punjab today, isolated thunderstorms with hail in Punjab and Haryana and Chandigarh on Wednesday and in East Uttar Pradesh and West Madhya Pradesh on January 6. With rain forecast.
According to the same IMD, there is a possibility of widespread snowfall in the western Himalayan region from January 7 to 9, although after that the snowfall in these areas will decrease. Due to this time, rain and snowfall have also been predicted in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and then in Himachal Pradesh on January 8 and 9. On the other hand, according to the IMD, there may be hailstorm in Punjab, East Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan on 7 January and East Madhya Pradesh on 7 and 8 January.
