New Delhi: Communist Party (Marxist) (CPI-M) national general secretary Sitaram Yechury on Thursday cited widespread support for the revamped citizenship law and the nationwide demonstration of Left parties in protest against NRC and worsening situation in the country. Said that their movement will continue. Yechury said in the press conference after the protest in Delhi, "Today's protest has received widespread public support across the country, especially the youth who participated in it in a big way." He said, "The government today even stopped communication services in many areas of the country, including Delhi, metro stations were closed and lakhs of people were detained. It shows that the situation in the country is worse than Emergency. In such a situation We have decided to continue the movement. After consulting with all the parties, we will soon make public the strategy of further movement. They were agitating, but the police have taken all the leaders and protesters into custody. He said that even after this, the enthusiasm of the youth did not diminish and they reached Jantar Mantar and started demonstrating. Yechury said that after being released from police custody, the leaders of the left parties also reached Jantar Mantar. Meanwhile, CPI general secretary D Raja said, "Regarding NRC and CAA, the government is accusing the opposition of spreading confusion, today's agitation proved that not the opposition but the ruling party is confusing the country on this issue."
