Delhi fire: Nitish Kumar announces Rs 2 lakh to families of those hailing from Bihar killed in fire

Patna: Just 43 people have been confirmed dead in the horrific fire in the grain market near Rani Jhansi Road, Delhi. Given the grave condition of many of the injured, the death toll is expected to increase. Most of the dead and injured are from Bihar. Many public representatives including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have mourned the incident. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a compensation of two lakh rupees to the families of the deceased. Meanwhile, politics has also started regarding the incident.

CM Nitish announces compensation: According to information received from sources, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed condolences on the incident and said that two lakh rupees will be given to the families of the deceased in Bihar. Of this, one lakh rupees will be given by the Labor Department and the remaining one lakh rupees will be given from the Chief Minister Relief Fund. The Chief Minister has directed the Delhi Local Commissioner and Joint Labor Commissioner and other senior officers of Bihar to provide all possible assistance.

Bihar Minister told Kejriwal Government responsible: Meanwhile, Water Resources Minister Sanjay Jha in Bihar Government present in Delhi took stock of the incident. He said that most of those who died and injured are from Madhubani, Samastipur and Purnia districts of Bihar. They lived alone, so their identity is not being known. He blamed Delhi's Arvind Kejriwal government for the accident. Said that the government has been negligent in ensuring compliance with safety standards.
