Court to pronounce verdict tomorrow on Robert Vadra's plea to go abroad

New Delhi: The Rouse Avenue Court of the national capital Delhi has reserved judgment on the petition filed by former Congress President Rahul Gandhi's brother-in-law Robert Vadra for going abroad. The court will give its verdict on this petition tomorrow i.e. on 13 September. Robert Vadra has sought permission from the court to travel to Spain. Earlier on 3 June, the court allowed Vadra to go abroad.

In the case of money laundering, when the court granted anticipatory bail to Vadra on April 1, the condition was that he would have to seek the permission of the court before going out of the country. Vadra has also filed a petition in the Delhi High Court and sought the dismissal of the case against him in the trial court. This petition is still pending in the High Court.

The case relates to Vadra's purchase of assets worth around 1.9 million British pounds. In that case, the ED has questioned Vadra several times on the basis of ECIR. In this case, Vadra has filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Patiala House court in Delhi. The ED has sought an inquiry into Vadra's custody and told the court that they are not cooperating in the investigation.
