Disha gang rape case: Court orders post mortem of the culprits killed in the encounter

Hyderabad:  Telangana High Court on Saturday said that the bodies of four persons killed in an encounter in a veterinarian gang-rape and murder case should be re-authored. Earlier, the Telangana High Court on Monday directed the authorities to preserve the bodies of the four accused killed in an alleged encounter with police in the Disha rape case till December 13.

A bench headed by Chief Justice RS Chauhan has given directions in this regard. The court said that if the government hospital in Mahbubnagar does not have arrangements to keep the bodies safe till December 13, then they can be transferred to the government-run Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. These bodies are currently kept since the post-mortem at the government hospital in Mahbubnagar after the alleged encounter on December 6.

Hearing a petition, the Chief Justice has wondered whether any FIR has been registered against the policemen involved in the encounter. The court was of the opinion that as per the Supreme Court guidelines, FIRs are required to be filed against those who are involved in the encounter.
