Donald Trump discusses Taliban with Qatar, will peace agreement be able to last long?

Washington: US President Donald Trump has discussed the phone with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. During this time, these two leaders held talks on the recent US-Taliban Pact. This information is shared by the White House. In fact, on Wednesday, the White House issued a statement saying that the two agreed to reduce the need for the Taliban to maintain peace and reduce violence in Afghanistan for a long time.

Earlier, the White House urged the Taliban to discuss the inter-Afghan talks with the Afghan government. This dialogue can take place on 10 March. The White House said that, "Trump has also discussed bilateral disputes and regional issues with the Emir of Qatar." It is noteworthy that the US and Taliban had signed a historic agreement on 29 February. Which will increase the hope of the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan and lasting peace in the conflict-ridden country.

However, the dispute started a few days after the signing ceremony of the deal as Taliban rebels attacked in Afghanistan and the US forces there responded with a defensive airstrike on Wednesday.
