New Delhi: It is a matter of prestige for the country of India that the prestigious institutes of the country, IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi have been included in the top 50 engineering colleges around the world. In the QS World Rankings released on Wednesday, IIT Bombay is ranked 44th and IIT Delhi is ranked 47th. Last year, IIT Delhi was present at 61st and IIT Bombay at the 53rd position. Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pekhariyal 'Nishank' has informed, 'This is considered to be an important achievement of our excellent engineering institutes.'

Five institutions of India are included in the Top-100 of QS World Rankings. In addition to IIT Bombay and Delhi, IIT Kharagpur 86, IIT Madras 88 and IIT Kanpur 96 rank.

In the year 2019, only three institutions IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi and IIT Madras were included in the Top-100. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has been ranked 162nd in Arts and Humanities, while Delhi University has 231st rank.
