BJP's Election Manifesto Comes to Life: Chhattisgarh Farmers to Benefit from Paddy Purchase

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has taken a significant step in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pre-assembly election promise by issuing an order to purchase 21 quintals of paddy from farmers at the support price per acre. This directive, effective from November 1, extends the opportunity for farmers who have previously sold their paddy at the support price to sell an additional quantity of up to 21 quintals per acre.

The Bharatiya Janata Party, in its pre-election manifesto, introduced 'Modi's Guarantee,' a comprehensive set of promises aimed at benefiting farmers. The state government is now actively working to honor these commitments. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has underscored the government's dedication to fulfilling all promises made under Modi's guarantee, emphasizing a commitment to prioritizing the welfare of farmers and the underprivileged.

The procurement process for paddy at the support price commenced on November 1. In a bid to facilitate a seamless selling experience for farmers, the government has issued instructions to ensure better and adequate arrangements at all procurement centers. As part of this initiative, 26.86 lakh farmers have registered to sell paddy at the support price, covering a substantial area of 33.15 lakh hectares.

Up to the present moment, around 9.25 lakh farmers have successfully sold 42.20 lakh metric tonnes of paddy at the support price. The government's efforts are geared towards ensuring the fulfillment of promises and providing tangible benefits to the agricultural community in Chhattisgarh.
