Kochi: Amidst a controversy involving Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu, accusing Khan of not fulfilling his constitutional duties and frequently violating protocol.

Earlier, Chief Minister Vijayan had criticized Khan's behavior, stating that it did not align with the etiquette expected from a Governor, and urged the Centre to examine the matter. Vijayan and Governor Khan have been in a public dispute since the latter accused the Chief Minister of conspiring to cause him physical harm.

Khan's strong accusation followed an incident where his vehicle was reportedly struck by activists of the Students Federation of India (SFI), the student wing of the CPI(M), as he was en route to the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport for a journey to Delhi. Expressing his anger, Governor Khan stepped out of his car and informed the media that Chief Minister Vijayan had conspired to send people to physically harm him.

He argued that if the Chief Minister disagrees with him on certain matters, it doesn't justify the Marxist veteran plotting physical harm against him. According to a source from Raj Bhavan, black flags were raised at Khan at three different locations.
