New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the country's general budget today. During this, she said that this time budget is a digital budget, it is coming at a time when the country's GDP has gone to minus two times in a row, but the same has happened with the global economy. 2021 is going to be a historic year which the country is eyeing. This budget has been prepared in circumstances that never existed before, there is no example of what we endured with covid-19 in 2020. She said that 64,180 crore rupees have been given by the government for the Self-Reliant Healthy India Scheme and the health budget has been increased. With this, the WHO's local mission will be launched in India by the government. Along with this, she said that 3,500 km of national highways will be constructed in Tamil Nadu with an investment of Rs 1.03 lakh crore. The construction of 1,100 km of national highways in Kerala will be done with an investment of Rs 65,000 crore. A 675 km highway will be constructed in West Bengal at a cost of Rs 25,000 crore. Nirmala Sitharaman said that Indian Railways has prepared a National Rail Scheme 2030 for India. The plan is to create a railway system ready for the future by 2030. High density network and overused network routes of Indian Railways will be provided with indigenously developed automated train protection system.
