Ahmedabad: There are reports of a ruckus at the Congress office in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Here, Bajrang Dal workers have reportedly changed the name of the Congress office and written 'Haj House' on it. It is being told that the workers were opposing the statement of Gujarat Congress unit president Jagdish Thakur. Right now Assembly elections are proposed in Gujarat later this year. According to media reports, Thakur had said that Muslims have the first right over the country's coffers. The whole uproar over it had begun. Bajrang Dal activists had also put up stickers of the Haj House on the statue of former PM Rajiv Gandhi. The BJP had also questioned the congress state president's statement. Recently, Thakur had said that Congress has always supported the minorities (Muslims) and never changed its ideology. The Congress leader had said, "We all know who is behind the communal riots taking place in the country and who is benefiting them from it. We know and still, get stuck in it. We should be careful not to fall into the trap.'' Speaking at an event organised by the Minority Department of the Congress, he said, "A Congress Prime Minister (Manmohan Singh) used to say with confidence that Muslims have the first right over the country's coffers. Congress knows how much damage the party has suffered by saying so, but still, it has not changed its ideology. He also urged the Muslim community to support the party.''
