Raipur: The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday summoned Congress President Sonia Gandhi and questioned her over a money laundering case related to the National Herald newspaper. Thereafter, the Congress Party held a countrywide demonstration. Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel even challenged the BJP government. He said that if the BJP government has the courage, it should install cameras in the interrogation room and also said that the ED should telecast the interrogation of Congress President Sonia Gandhi live in the money laundering case.

Addressing a protest organised by the Congress in front of the Enforcement Directorate office in Chhattisgarh's capital Raipur, Chief Minister Baghel accused the BJP of misusing central agencies against opposition parties. Enforcement Directorate interrogates Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi for over two hours in connection with a money laundering case related to the National Herald newspaper. She was summoned again on July 25. The Enforcement Directorate's action against Sonia Gandhi had a strong response from the Congress, which staged street protests across the country.

Speaking in Chhattisgarhi, the local language, Chief Minister Baghel said that the Enforcement Directorate should install cameras in the room where they were questioning Sonia Gandhi and share its links with all the news channels or allow the cameras of news channels inside the room. The country wants to know about Sonia Gandhi's question and answer. If the BJP government at the Centre has the guts, let the Enforcement Directorate install cameras at the place where Sonia Gandhi is being questioned. Do you have that kind of courage? The country wants to know where the scam has taken place. The Congress leader said the Modi government is harassing a 75-year-old woman (Gandhi) whose health is bad. He further said that the Enforcement Directorate officials could have taken a written statement from the Congress president instead of calling her to the office.
