In Gujarat's Morbi region, On Thursday, Cyclone Biparjoy made landfall in Gujarat's coastal regions. More than 300 electrical poles were damaged as a result of torrential rains and strong winds that gusted between 115 and 120 km per hour. While power has already been restored to the other villages, Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL) officials are working to restore power in 9 villages. IMD forecasts that Cyclone Biparjoy will continue to lose strength by Friday morning and transition into a "depression" that evening. The cyclone, which is centred over the Saurashtra-Kutch region, would likely travel northeast, bringing heavy rainfall to Rajasthan, according to IMD. Around 99 trains that were either through or coming from the Gujarati cities hit by Cyclone Biparjoy have been cancelled or short-terminated, according to Western Railways. To gather the latest information regarding the cyclone, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel presided over a meeting of the State Emergency Operation Centre on Thursday.
