PM Imran files Rs 1000 crore defamation lawsuit against Najam Sethi

Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has sent a defamation notice worth Rs 1,000 crore to private TV channel anchor Najm Sethi alleging showing false news about his personal life. Babur Anwar, an adviser to PM Imran, has said that the TV channel's journalist Najm Sethi has attempted to tarnish his image by propagating a lucrative agenda about Imran's personal life. So he has been served a defamation notice of Rs 1,000 crore.

Posting pictures of the notice and its information on Twitter, Ajghar Lakhhari, head of public relations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, said that the notice said that there was no generosity on those who circulate false news against the Prime Minister.

"There have been several shameful claims made by Najm Sethi about Imran Khan's personal life and he has violated law and morality by sitting in a private TV channel," Ajghar told news agency IANS. At the same time, there has been an attempt to tarnish the REPUTATION of the PM. Lakhari further said that he hopes Sethi will face the court instead of fleeing, otherwise he will have to pay Rs 1,000 crore.
