Srinagar: Security forces have gunned down a Pakistani terrorist in an encounter in Kulgam in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir late on Wednesday night. The terrorist has been identified as Babur, a resident of Pakistan. He had been active in Shopian and Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir since 2018. A rifle, a pistol and two grenades were recovered from the slain terrorist. Kashmir Police IG Vijay Kumar said that policeman Rohit Chhib has also attained valour during the encounter. In addition, 3 Army personnel have been injured. Two civilians also sustained minor injuries. The Terrorist Babur, linked to Pakistan-backed terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed, was involved in several incidents in the Valley. The encounter started on Wednesday when a joint team of police and army launched a search operation at Pariwan village in Kulgam. Officials said the terrorist Babur was hiding in the house. He had been active in Shopian and Kulgam since 2018.''
