National flag to fly at half mast today as mark of respect to Ram Vilas Paswan

New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has said that the national flag will be half-mast in Delhi, the capital of all states and union territories on Friday to condole the demise of Union Minister Paswan. The flag will also be tilted on the day of his funeral. Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan passed away on Thursday . He was 74 years old. In his honour, state mourning has been announced on Friday and the tricolour will be half-tilted.

His son and Lok Janshakti Party (LOJPA) chief Chirag Paswan has tweeted the death of the father. He wrote, "Papa, Now you are not in this world but I know wherever you are are always with me. Miss U Papa."The founder of Lojopa and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Paswan had been sick for several days and were getting treatment in the hospital.

He had undergone heart surgery recently. According to a statement issued by the Fortis Escort Heart Institute, Paswan's health declined in the last 24 hours and he breathed his last at 6.5 pm (06:05 pm) on Thursday.
