Srinagar: The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Police have recovered arms and ammunition dropped from a Pakistani drone in Toff village near the international border. A case was registered at Arnia police station on February 24 this year regarding the recovery of arms and ammunition dropped from the Pakistani drone, police said. One of the accused, who belongs to Jammu, has said that a Pakistani handler, Mohammad Ali Hussain alias Qasim, plays a key role in dropping drones and is the main operative of terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Al Badr. The accused has been produced before a court, which remanded him to police custody. Police said that during sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to his role in the Arnia arms drop case and also revealed two locations where the arms and ammunition dropped from the drone were concealed. A police team along with the concerned magistrate reached the spot one after the other to recover the weapon. Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mukesh Singh has said that "Although there was no recovery in the first place, a cache of arms, ammunition and explosives has been found in Tof village (near the international border) of Phalian Mandal area at the second place." While the packet was being opened, the accused attacked a police officer and snatched his service rifle. He fired at the police party and tried to flee from the spot.
