Thiruvananthapuram: Amidst growing cases of coronavirus infestation in Kerala, the state's Pinarayi Vijayan government on Saturday issued an order fixing the rates for treatment of covid-19 in private hospitals and has also issued guidelines in this regard. With this, the government has also fixed the rate of corona test. So far 16,995 cases of this disease have been registered in Kerala, while 54 people have lost their lives. According to the order, rates of Rs 2,300 per day will be applicable in the General Ward, while in the High Care Units (HDUs), a fee of Rs 3,300 per day will be charged. The ICU rates will be Rs 6,500 per day, while with the ventilator, this fee will be Rs 11,500 per day. State Health Minister KK Shailaja said that orders have been issued to all the private hospitals empaneled under the Karunya Arogya Suraksha Prakashan (KASP). These rates will also be applicable for those patients referred by government hospitals in private hospitals which are not covered under KASP. State Health Agency (SHA) implementing KASP has issued guidelines. Health Minister KK Shailaja said, "Patients can get treatment from any government or private hospital. Both sectors have come together to deal with the covid-19 epidemic.
