HYDERABAD: K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the working president of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), said on Monday that the BJP should first apologise to Indians at home for spewing hatred on a daily basis. In response to allegations that several Arab countries have demanded an apology from India over blasphemous remarks made by ruling party spokespersons, Rama Rao remarked that the BJP, not India, should apologise. Rama Rao asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet why India as a country should apologise to the foreign community for BJP extremists' hate comments. "The BJP, not India as a nation, should apologise. Your party should first apologise to Indians at home for continuously spewing and propagating hatred "KTR wrote. When BJP MP Pragya Singh praised the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, KTR tweeted that the PM's silence was deafening and disturbing. "Mr. Modi Your silence was deafening and shocking when BJP MP Pragya Singh hailed the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi Let me remind you sir; What you permit is what you promote," the TRS leader noted. "The tacit support from the top is what has fueled intolerance and hatred, which would result in irreversible loss for India," he warned. For the second day in a row, KTR has tweeted about the issue. He had requested that the BJP's Telangana unit chief, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, be suspended on Sunday.
