Lok Sabha discusses inflation, Rates has doubled in 14 months

NEW DELHI: Congress MP Manish Tewari on Monday said in Lok Sabha that during the past 14 months, the inflation rate has multiplied making it the highest in three decades.

Starting a debate on prise rise under Rule 193 in the Lok Sabha, he alleged that one percent of the people are controlling 77 percent of the nation wealth.

Daily items like rice, curd, and paneer now come with a higher GST rate; regrettably, even children aren't exempt because stationary costs have also climbed. He spoke in Hindi and concluded the discussion with a Punjabi couplet in which he said that the country's economy has been declining ever since the demonetisation.

Nishikant Dubey, a BJP member, defended the administration by claiming that unemployment and inflation are both rising in the neighbouring countries of Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

The bad situation in India continues to receive a free two-meal daily allowance despite the country's dire circumstances. Since the World Bank has provided funding to nations like Egypt, shouldn't the Prime Minister be appreciated for this? He also slammed the Trinamool Congress for receiving money from Jharkhand Congress MLAs who were detained in Bengal and the assistant of former state minister Partha Chatterji.
