Lovlina Borgohain has won several medals for the country

Today is the birthday of India's famous boxer Lovlina Borgohain. Lovlina hails from Bada Mukhia village in the Golaghat district of Assam. Lovlina was born on October 2, 1997. Lovlina's father Tiken Borgohen is a businessman and her mother Mamoni is a housewife. In the beginning, Lovlina was inclined towards kick-boxing. The boxing trial of the Sports Authority of India caught the eye of coach Padum Boro, who started instructing herĀ in 2012. Thereafter, she started training with India's chief women's boxing coach Shiv Singh. Lovlina started coaching boxing in 2012. Then, in February 2018, Lovlina won a gold medal at the India Open and attracted everyone's attention to her game. She had earlier won bronze medals at the Asian Boxing Championships in Vietnam in November 2017 and the Presidents Cup in Astana in June 2017. In the quarterfinals of the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Lovlina lost to Sandy Ryan of the United States. After this defeat, she resorted to herĀ fitness as well as a meditation technique. She also benefited from this change and won two consecutive bronze medals at the World Championships held in late 2018 and thereafter in 2019.
