Use of the word PM is not acceptable to the government in the road plan: CM Mamta Banerjee

Kolkata: Not long ago, the Chief Minister of Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, while paying tribute to the founders of the Constitution, said that no one should tamper with the basic spirit of the Constitution. The first meeting of the Constituent Assembly was held on this day in 1946. Ms Banerjee tweeted, "On this day in 1946, the Constituent Assembly met for the first time. My tribute to the founding fathers who created India's Constitution. We must never tamper with the basic spirit of what is written in this great document."

The Bengal government, which changed the name of various central schemes to implement the state, does not want to construct Panchayat level roads with the funds of the 'Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana'. It is said in the plea that the name is the Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana while the State Government has to bear 50 percent of the expenditure.

Talking to journalists outside the assembly about the removal of PM's name from the Prime Minister's Road Scheme, Subrata Mukherjee said that when we give 50 percent of the total cost of cooperation (administrative cost), then we name these roads Why should I sign the Prime Minister? He said that Mukherjee said that in fact nomenclature of these roads contained politics. Not only this, Mukherjee demanded that if the word 'Prime Minister' is being used, then the word 'Chief Minister' should also be used in naming the roads.
