Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee on Monday paid tribute to the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Murshidabad who lost her life due to corona infection while on duty, saying that her government will provide all possible help to the family of the officer. A health department official has told that Krishna Chandra Das (51), the BDO of Novada, was undergoing treatment for the last twenty days. However, he died in a private hospital here on Sunday night. Describing her death as irreparable damage, CM Mamta Banerjee said, "It is very sad to hear about the sudden death of BDO Krishna Chandra Das of Novada, Murshidabad. Das, a dedicated (executive) officer of the WBCS, was at the forefront in the war against the Coronavirus and has discharged his duties with great vigilance and commitment during the transition. '' CM Mamta Banerjee has also expressed condolences to the officer's family. In this regard, he tweeted, "I salute his leadership and supreme sacrifice for the people of Bengal ... We have stood by his family. They will be provided all possible help. '' In West Bengal, the cases of corona are increasing day by day. After the recovery of 3,308 people from Corona infection in West Bengal on Sunday, the rate of recovery from this virus has reached almost 82 percent. While 3,019 new cases of this virus have been reported. The health department has given this information. The department has said that a total of 1,30,952 people have been cured of this infection so far in the state.
