Now, Delhi has 'extra' Oxygen, Sisodia says, centre divide it to other states

New Delhi: Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Thursday said the need for oxygen in Delhi has come down from 700 mt to 582 mt every day and the government has written to the Centre saying it has additional oxygen and can be supplied to other states as well. Sisodia also said that the rate of infection in the city has come down to 14 per cent and 10,400 cases of corona virus have been registered in 24 hours.

"The new cases have come down to about 10,400 as compared to the highest number of 28,000 cases registered earlier," Sisodia said during a virtual press conference. The transition rate has come down from 35 per cent to 14 per cent. Now there are more beds in covid hospitals and the demand for oxygen has also come down. He said delhi needed 700 metric tonnes of oxygen every day when corona virus cases were peaking.

Sisodia said the government recalculated the demand as the number of patients admitted in hospitals and the number of infections was low and now 582 metric tonnes of oxygen is required. State that the Centre had recently increased Delhi's oxygen quota by 590 Metric Tonnes per day. "We have written to the Central Government to give additional oxygen to other states," Sisodia said.
