Mathura temple-mosque dispute to be heard on May 10, demand raise for ASI survey

Mathura: A petition filed by advocate Shailendra Singh with the Civil Judge Senior Division regarding ownership of 13.37 acres of land of Mathura Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi was to be heard but could not be heard due to condolences. As a result, another petition has been filed by advocate Shailendra Singh in the court claiming that the stones of Thakur Keshav Dev temple were planted on the steps of Masjid Diwane Khas Jama Masjid Agra Fort.

The petitioner advocate Shailendra Singh has demanded the court to conduct a survey report from the Archaeology Survey of India (ASI) to clear it. The court has fixed May 10 as the next date of hearing in the case, now the next hearing in the court of civil judge senior division will be held on May 10. In a petition filed by activist Shailendra Singh, an order dated April 8 by a Varanasi court ordered an archaeological survey of the Gyanvapi Masjid complex built by demolishing the Kashi Vishwanath temple to determine whether the mosque was built by mughal emperors after demolishing the temple.

On the other hand, that order to justify its base in the case is currently being challenged by the Gyanvapi Masjid Committee and the Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Wakf Board in the Allahabad High Court. Shelendra Singh's petition in the civil judge's (senior division) court argued that the magnificent temple built by Bundela King Raja Bir Singh Dev at a cost of Rs 33 lakh was demolished by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in January 1670.
