Mehbooba said there is no shortage of security forces in the Kashmir valley anyway. Jammu and Kashmir is a political problem and the Army is not the solution. The central government needs to reconsider the matter and change its policies. It may be mentioned that the Home Ministry has issued an order for deployment of 100 additional companies of security forces in the valley for security purposes in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the order, 50 additional companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will be deployed in the Valley.

There are already 40 thousand security forces deployed throughout the state.
