Odisha took home the most medals at the National Skill Development Corporation's (NSDC) IndiaSkills 2021 National Competition, which took place in New Delhi from January 7 to 9. With 51 medals, Odisha came out on top, followed by Maharashtra with 30, and Kerala with 25. In the country's largest skill development competition, Odisha also took home 10 gold medals, 18 silver medals, 9 bronze medals, and 14 medallions. Visual merchandising, graphic design technology, wall and floor tiling, welding, health and social care, car painting, beauty therapy, and construction work were among the 54 categories in the closed-door competition. There were 150 winners in total, with 59 gold medalists receiving a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, 73 silver medalists receiving a cash prize of Rs 75,000, and 53 bronze medalists receiving a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each. The medallion of excellence was awarded to 14 contestants in total. The winners of IndiaSkills 2021 would have the opportunity to compete in the WorldSkills International Competition in Shanghai in October 2022. On Tuesday, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik informed his Twitter followers about the development. He said that his state will send the most people to WorldSkills Shanghai out of all Indian states.
