Odisha's GST revenue increased by 43 pc in December 2021

Bhubaneswar: Odisha's Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection reached Rs 4080.14 crore in December 2021, up from Rs 2860.20 crore in December 2020, a 43 percent increase.

According to the Odisha Commissionerate of Commercial Tax and Goods and Services Tax, "For the fourth month in a row, collection growth was the highest among major states in December 2021. This is also the state's second-highest gross GST collection since the implementation of GST."

GST revenue is expected to reach Rs 32,113 crore by December 2021, up from Rs 20,089 crore in December 2020, a 60 percent increase. Until December 2019, the corresponding collection was Rs 21,750 crore.

The OGST collection in December 2021 is Rs 1,118.65 crore, up from Rs 765.26 crore in December 2020, representing a 46.18 percent increase. The state's gross OGST collection of Rs. 1118.65 crore in December 2021 is also the third highest ever since the implementation of GST. CGST, IGST, and Cess collections totaled Rs 973.79 crore, Rs 1,267.63 crore, and Rs 720.07 crore in December 2021, representing increases of 65.21 percent, 31.26 percent, and 33.40 percent over December 2020, respectively.

The gross GST collection for the third quarter of 2021-22 (October-December) was Rs 11,809.26 crore, up 51.08 percent from the similar second quarter collection in 2020-21.
