New Delhi: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah said on Tuesday (October 18) that Team India will not travel to Pakistan to play the proposed Asia Cup in the year 2023. After this, now former Pakistan opener Saeed Anwar has said that Pakistan should also not go to India for the World Cup. Let us tell you that the ODI World Cup of 2023 is to be played in India. In fact, apart from being the BCCI secretary, Jay Shah is also the head of the Asia Cricket Council (ACC). Being the ACC secretary, he had announced that Team India would not go on a tour of Pakistan to play the Asia Cup. He had said that ''Asia Cup 2023 will be played at a neutral venue. I am saying this as ACC President. We cannot go to Pakistan, and they cannot come to India. This has happened in the past as well and the Asia Cup has been played at neutral venues.'' After this statement of the BCCI secretary, Pakistani legend Saeed Anwar has said that if BCCI shifts the Asia Cup 2023 to a neutral venue, then the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will also have to postpone the ODI World Cup to be held in India in the year 2023. The matter should be discussed with the ICC and the tournament should be organized at some other venue outside India. Saeed Anwar tweeted that, 'When all the international teams and international cricketers come to Pakistan to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), then what is the problem with the BCCI? If BCCI is ready to move the Asia Cup 2023 to a neutral venue, then the PCB should also move the ODI World Cup to be held in India next year to a neutral venue.' Let us tell you that Team India has not gone on a tour of Pakistan since the year 2008. In the year 2008, the Indian team went to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup. After this, the relations between the two countries deteriorated due to the nefarious antics of Pakistan and no bilateral series has taken place. Now, Team India and Pakistan face each other in ICC tournaments only. Ganguly's first reaction after stepping down as BCCI chief, know what 'Dada' said?
