New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paid tribute to the Great Leader of the Indian freedom struggle and freedom fighter Chandrasekhar Azad. Paying homage to the martyr Chandrasekhar Azad, PM Modi said, "He was a fearless and determined revolutionary who sacrificed his life for the freedom of the country." In a tweet, Mr Modi said, "My humble tribute to Bharat Mata's heroic son Chandra Shekhar Azad on his birth anniversary. He was a fearless and determined revolutionary who sacrificed his life for the freedom of the country. The saga of his heroism is a source of inspiration for the countrymen. It is worth mentioning here that Shaheed Chandrasekhar Azad, who was identified as the great architect of the Indian freedom struggle, was born on July 23, 1906 in Bhabra village in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh, now known as 'Azadnagar'. On the other hand, Prime Minister Modi also paid homage to Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, one of the freedom fighters and one of the Lal-bal-pal trio. He wrote, "Lokmanya Tilak was given the best salutation on his birth anniversary. In a patriotic spirit, he was a freedom fighter who dedicated his life to Purna Swaraj. The nation will always remember their contribution.
