Updates on Independence Day 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the Vishwakarma Yojana with a budget ranging from Rs 13,000 crore to Rs 15,000 crore. The scheme aims to aid individuals from the OBC community, including professions such as barbers, tanners, and blacksmiths. The official launch of the program is scheduled for Vishwakarma Jayanti next month. In his address, the Prime Minister also expressed his concerns about dynastic politics, emphasizing that corruption, nepotism, and appeasement have inflicted substantial harm upon India. Addressing the Manipur crisis, he acknowledged the lives lost and conveyed that while progress is being made, both the Central and State governments are working in tandem to resolve the challenges confronting Manipur. Arriving at the Red Fort, PM Modi was welcomed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Additionally, he received greetings from the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and the heads of the army, navy, and air force. The Prime Minister conducted an inspection of the guard of honor at the Red Fort. The Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort saw the participation of approximately 1,800 special guests and their spouses. This inclusive group included 400 sarpanches from over 600 villages, 250 representatives from the Farmer Producer Organizations scheme, and 50 participants each from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. Also present were 50 shram yogis (construction workers) from the Central Vista Project, 50 individuals each from the Khadi industry, those engaged in border road construction, contributors to the creation of Amrit Sarovar and Har Ghar Jal Yojana, as well as 50 attendees comprising primary school teachers, nurses, and fishermen.
