Independence Day 2023: During his address to the nation from the iconic Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi applauded the remarkable accomplishments of women in India and commended their invaluable contributions to the nation's progress. Emphasizing the pivotal role of women in driving development, PM Modi highlighted the leadership of women scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), particularly in steering the Chandrayaan mission.

"Our nation's advancement hinges on one crucial factor – women-led development. Presently, we take immense pride in proclaiming that India boasts the highest number of female pilots in the civil aviation sector. Moreover, our women scientists are at the forefront of steering the Chandrayaan mission. Even the G20 nations acknowledge the significance of women-led development," stated PM Modi.

Earlier, ISRO disclosed that the Chandrayaan-3 mission engaged around 54 female engineers and scientists who played a direct role. Chandrayaan-3 serves as a sequel to Chandrayaan-2, aimed at showcasing a comprehensive capability for secure lunar landings and surface roving. The mission encompasses an indigenous propulsion module, a lander module, and a rover, all geared toward advancing and demonstrating novel technologies required for interplanetary expeditions.

Following its launch on July 14, Chandrayaan-3 successfully entered lunar orbit on August 5, subsequently executing two orbit reduction maneuvers on August 6 and 9. On a recent note, ISRO announced that India's ambitious lunar exploration endeavor, Chandrayaan-3, has entered a critical stage – orbit circularization – as it prepares for its eventual Moon landing.

In the course of his Independence Day speech, PM Modi also expressed gratitude towards women for their significant role in boosting the Indian economy. He expressed, "I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the mothers, sisters, and daughters of our nation who are propelling women-led development."

"I wish to extend my appreciation to the mothers, sisters, and daughters of our great nation, acknowledging their exceptional capabilities. My gratitude extends to the farmers whose tireless efforts drive progress in the agricultural sector, as well as to the dedicated workers and laborers who contribute to India's march towards modernization," PM Modi remarked from the historic Red Fort.

PM Modi further affirmed that the world recognizes the potential of India's ordinary citizens. He affirmed, "It is undeniable that India's potential and opportunities are poised to scale unprecedented heights of trust. These newfound pinnacles of trust will be forged alongside emerging capabilities. Presently, India holds the privilege of hosting the G20 Summit. The manner in which numerous G20 events unfolded across India in the past year has aptly showcased the capabilities and diversity of India's ordinary citizens."

Extending his appreciation to the youth, PM Modi hailed the strength of the nation's youth, expressing his unwavering belief in their abilities. "Our country teems with opportunities, offering boundless prospects to its youth. India stands equipped to offer endless opportunities," affirmed the Prime Minister.
