New Delhi: An inmate of Tihar Jail, considered the safest place in the country, died on Friday under suspicious circumstances. According to the family of the deceased, he was to be released soon. The prison administration says that the prisoner tried to commit suicide by hanging himself in the jail on Tuesday, but was referred to a hospital in an unconscious state, where he died during treatment. At the same time, the family of the deceased is accusing the police of murder under some conspiracy. He was admitted in the ICU of Deendayal Upadhyay hospital since Tuesday. He died last night. On receipt of the information, the family members of the deceased prisoner created a ruckus in the hospital. The police had to scatter people using force in a hurry. According to the prisoner's family, he was imprisoned for 9 years and was soon to be released. However, top police officials are currently refraining from commenting on the matter. An official has said that an inquiry will be conducted into this incident and only then it will be possible to say something.
