Special cards distributed to UP MLAs, will get entry in Assembly on showing it

Lucknow: Radio Frequency Identification Card (RFID) has been issued to UP Assembly members today. These smart cards have been issued on the lines of the Lok Sabha for special security within the Assembly. All information including the name, photo, etc. of the Assembly constituency will be recorded on the screen when the members of the Assembly enter the Assembly Mandap. Simultaneous members' photos and all the information will be reflected on the TV screens at the entrance.

The cards were issued by Pradeep Kumar Dubey, Principal Secretary, Legislative Assembly, Executive Director (ESIL), retired Bigradier KS Dalal and Rajiv Mathur, Project Manager in the Assembly today. The work plan of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) card is being completed by Electronics Corporation of India Limited. It is a public sector undertaking established under Atomic Energy, Government of India.

The institution has completed the issue of smart cards in Parliament House, Rashtrapati Bhavan and PMO & Housing. The Speaker has expressed optimism that such smart cards will effectively control the security of members of the Assembly and also curb the entry of strangers.
