Federer undergoes knee surgery, exits from this big tennis event

Famous Swiss player Roger Federer has undergone surgery to overcome a long-standing knee problem and on Thursday said that he would not be able to participate in many tournaments, including the French Open. The reason for this is his knee surgery.

The 20-time Grand Slam winner told via social media that he underwent surgery in Switzerland on Wednesday and that he would not be able to play in many tournaments, including the French Open that runs from 24 May to 7 June.

The Swiss veteran star wrote in his tweet, 'For some time, my right knee was raising my concerns. I hope this will be corrected, but after some investigation and interaction with my team, I decided to have orthoscopic surgery in Switzerland yesterday (Wednesday). After this procedure, the doctors told that the operation was the right thing to be done, and the doctors are very confident that it will be completely correct. As a result, I will not be able to participate in Dubai, Indian Wells, Bogota, Miami and the French Open. I am grateful for everyone's support. I am desperate to play again, see you soon on the grass.
