Mollywood celebs have all reacted on social media to the alleged dowry death by suicide of Vismayab, which were followed by several such cases over the next few days. And while most young and veteran actors called for the removal of dowry from our marriage system, and also called for families to bring up their daughters to be independent, rather than marriage-oriented, actor Samyuktha Menon shared her own experience. Speaking of being brought up by a single mother, on the occasion of the latter’s birthday, the Vellam actress wrote, “Certain mishaps in the state have gotten people talking about the miseries of single parenting and how women should always depend on a male counterpart. Just want the world to know how stunning my mom’s journey has been so far bringing me up by herself. It was her will to face life and make a difference that mattered ultimately and look how far we’ve come! This ..this small part puts nothing but an irrevocable smile on both of our faces.” Samyuktha seems to have been fairly busy during the lockdown. Apart from focusing on fitness, on the work front, she had the first theatre release after the lockdown with Prajesh Sen’s Vellam, opposite Jayasurya. Her anthology film Aanum Pennum had also released on the big screen. Apart from making her debut in Kannada with Gaalipata, Samyuktha seems to have reinvented herself in a sexy avatar for VK Prakash’s Erida, where she plays the title role. She also has Shaji Kailas’s Kaduva coming up, opposite Prithviraj. Mohanlal shares a glimpse from ‘Aaraattu’ .
