Jammu and Kashmir: Ambassadors of 16 countries arrives to take stock of state's situation

Today i.e. on Thursday, the ambassadors of 16 countries including the American have arrived in India to take stock of the situation in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Last year in October of 2019, a 27-member delegation of the European Parliament visited Kashmir. This was objected by many opposition parties. This time the reasons for EU diplomats not attending the tour have not been officially confirmed yet. However, according to media reports, in the Government of India, EU diplomats want to visit Jammu and Kashmir in a separate group, but it is not possible to prepare it right now. It is being told that the diplomats of the European Union will be taken on a visit to Kashmir after some time.

According to the media report, the Indian government is in touch with the European Union on the issue of visiting diplomats in Jammu and Kashmir. The European Union has not been able to agree to be a part of this Jammu and Kashmir tour. According to central government sources, EU diplomats want to go to a separate group, but it is not possible to make such preparations in such a short time.

Diplomats from 16 countries including US Ambassador to India, Kenneth Juster have come on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir from Thursday. This will be the first visit of diplomats after the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was abolished last year. These diplomats from Delhi arrived in Srinagar by air on Thursday and from there he will go to Jammu. He will also meet the people of civil society along with the Deputy Governor GC Marmu there. These will also include diplomats from countries like Bangladesh, Vietnam, Norway, Maldives, South Korea, Morocco, Nigeria, etc.
