Kanpur: A shocking incident has come to light from Kanpur Dehat in UP. Here, just 10 days after marriage, a newly married woman gave birth to a child. Subsequently, the husband and in-laws refused to adopt the newlyweds. On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case of gangrape and SC-ST. Police are conducting raids to arrest the culprits. The incident took place in Rura police station area of Kanpur Dehat. A Dalit girl living in a village in the police station area was married on May 15, 2023, in a village in Bhognipur Kotwali area. After the marriage, when the newly married woman came to her parents house on the fourth day, she had stomach ache on May 25. The family admitted her to a private hospital in Akbarpur, where she gave birth to a baby girl on May 26 after she complained of labour pains. The child died shortly after becoming weak. When the matter was reported to the husband and in-laws, they refused to accept the wife. On June 6, the victim lodged a complaint with the police against Arun Pal and Vinay Pal of the same village for forcibly raping and threatening to kill her. Inspector Samar Bahadur Singh of Rura police station said that a case has been registered against Arun Pal and Vinay Pal under sections 374-D, 506 and 3(2), the victim has been sent for medical examination, raids are being conducted to arrest the culprits.
