Agra: The demand for oxygen in Agra has quadrupled during the growing cases of COVID-19 virus. The price of oxygen cylinder has also been hiked by one and a half times. Ima President Dr. Rm Pachauri says that the oxygen supplying companies are able to supply twice the difficulty. He said that infected patients are undergoing treatment in five government and private hospitals. On an average, 40 to 45 cylinders were required daily in each hospital. In April-May, demand for 70 to 80 cylinders per day started, some decrease in June, but became the april stage in July. In August, the demand for oxygen was tripled, with corona hospitals demanding 140 to 160 cylinders per day since last week. The companies have been able to supply four-fold cylinders. In view of the serious patients, hospitals have to buy at 1.5 to twice the price. Devesh Gautam, manager of the universal gas company supplying oxygen, said that this is not only here, the entire state is in demand for four times the oxygen, supplying up to two times. Demand is also coming up in general hospitals. The prices of oxygen cylinders have gone up. Dr. Ranveer Tyagi of the same synergy hospital said that there is a shortage of oxygen cylinders and liquid oxygen. Oxygen is not being received as per requirement even when the cylinder is priced at 1.5 to 2 times, and such a situation can put the situation in a more peril.
