Mumbai: A strange case has come to light from Nalasopara adjacent to Mumbai in Maharashtra where a 21-year-old girlfriend robbed her own neighbor's house to fulfill her boyfriend's wish. On November 23, complainant Divya Suresh Patel, a resident of Rashmi Garden, Evershine City, Nalasopara East, informed the Achole police about the disappearance of cash and jewelery worth Rs 10 lakh kept in her house. After receiving the complaint, the police registered the case and started an investigation. The police initially faced difficulties as they could not get any clue from the CCTV cameras installed in the area. In such a situation, the police questioned the complainant if anyone else had any information about the cash and gold in his house. The complainant then told the police that he had discussed the gold kept in his house with other women living in the building. Seeing this as a clue, the police officers started monitoring the activities of every woman in the building. He saw that recently a 21-year-old woman had bought goods worth lakhs of rupees. Police officials said that during the investigation they found that there was no change in the source of income of the girl, even after that, she bought expensive furniture and a motorcycle worth Rs 1 lakh for her boyfriend. In such a situation, the suspicion of the police deepened on the girl. When the police interrogated the girl, she confessed to her crime. After the arrest, the police recovered about four and a half lakh rupees from the criminal girl, while she spent the rest of the cash on the purchase of goods. Based on the girl's confession and evidence, the police registered a case under various sections of the IPC and sent the criminal to police custody. At the same time, the girl's lover has been sent to a reform home.
