Politics begins over Morbi bridge accident, TMC reminds PM Modi of 2016

Kolkata: Criticizing the BJP government in Gujarat over the Morbi bridge accident in Gujarat, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday (November 1) wondered whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi would condemn the state as he did in Bengal in 2016. did during the incident. The TMC was apparently referring to the collapse of a portion of the under-construction Vivekananda Road flyover in Kolkata during the assembly elections in Bengal in March 2016. In this accident, 27 people lost their lives and many others were injured.

Now a war of words has started in Bengal over the bridge collapse in Gujarat. TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh has said that 'When a bridge collapsed in Kolkata during the 2016 assembly elections, PM Modi while campaigning for his party had cited corruption as the main reason. Now, what does he have to say about the Gujarat incident as well.'

At the same time, TMC's Rajya Sabha member Sushmita Dev has said that the BJP's much-awaited 'Gujarat model' has been exposed due to the collapse of the bridge in Morbi. He said that in 2016, PM Modi came to West Bengal and criticized the state government for the collapse of the bridge. PM has a habit of politicizing every issue if it happens in an opposition-ruled state. But a sad incident has happened in Gujarat. This state is ruled by BJP. So what will they say now? This incident has exposed the Gujarat model.
